The Drako MMA Training Gloves are highly protective, quality MMA gloves that are designed specifically for the training regimens of intermediate and pro athletes alike. While they are not intended for combat, they are ideal for use in training as sparring and grappling gloves.
Many gyms love to use these MMA training gloves for their competing athletes during the lead-up to a fight. The extra padding around the knuckles ensures the highest level of protection for the fingers and knuckles, while the thumb cover helps protect the thumb from injury. This means that athletes can continue to train right up to their competition date without fearing injury.
The benefit that these leather MMA training gloves offer over regular MMA gloves is that you get all the regular functionality, but with the added protection that you get with boxing gloves.
Drako uses cowhide leather for intermediate and high-end MMA gloves because leather is more durable than vinyl. This is due to its natural ability to stretch and morph under pressure.
These gloves feature an open palm. This is more practical for making fists because the absence of material allows your hand to use its full natural range of movement.
The Velcro closure strap makes it quick and easy to put these gloves on and to take them off. It also provides extra support for the wrist, which helps to prevent injury.
All Drako MMA and gloves are manufactured to the highest standards of quality, using both durable materials and innovative design. Drako ensures that all factories that manufacture their products are ISO approved. This means that the factories meet acceptable, safe, and humane working conditions.
These Drako MMA gloves are ideal for anyone seeking protective MMA grappling gloves, MMA sparring gloves, MMA combat gloves, or pro MMA gloves for training.
Competition gloves – These gloves typically have very little padding. Many pro-level fighters wear 4oz gloves, while most amateur level fighters prefer wearing more protection and choose the 6oz gloves. Their free-fingered design allows fighters to strike and also hold onto their opponents. It’s important to still use hand wraps with these gloves, as you will rely on them for added protection.
Sparring gloves – More often than not, sparring gloves’ padding will weigh in around 7oz. Sparring workouts will focus on your striking and punching techniques, therefore, you want to be prepared in order to maintain stamina. Similar to bag & boxing gloves, sparring gloves will feature a grip bar that will help you form a tight. Protection is key in sparring scenarios, whether drilling on a bag or with an opponent, and these gloves will keep your knuckles in optimal fight condition.
Grappling gloves – These gloves are often referred to as “hybrid” or “training” gloves. Their purpose is typically to protect your hands in clinch work or grappling, thus, they’ll have less padding than both sparring and competition gloves. The padding only extends up to the second knuckle, giving your hands and fingers enough room to grapple while still having protection.
